The kingdom splits. A war is called off. Fifteen cities rise. 2 Chronicles 11 is the rare chapter where a king hears God’s word and actually obeys.

Lyrics
When Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem He assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin
One hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men which were warriors To fight against Israel that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam But the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God saying
Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon king of Judah And to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin saying Thus says the Lord, You shall not go up nor fight Against your brothers, return every man to his house
For this thing is done of me And they hearkened to the word of the Lord And returned from going against Jeroboam
And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem And built cities for defense in Judah Bethlehem and Etam and Tekoa, Bethzur and Soco and Adullam
And Gath and Mareshah and Ziph, and Adoraim And Lachish and Azekah, and Zorah and Aijalon And Hebron, which are in Judah and Benjamin Fortified cities
And he fortified the strongholds And put captains in them and stores of victuals and oil and wine And in every city bucklers and spears And made them exceeding strong
So Judah and Benjamin remained his And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel Resorted to him out of all their coasts
The kingdom held The cities built The defense made The kingdom endures
