Lyrics
Arise and go you and your household The LORD has called for a famine it will come for seven years
The woman arose and did according to the word She went with her household and lived in the land of the Philistines Seven years she waited in that foreign place At the end of seven years she returned to her own land
Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant Telling of all the great things that Elisha had done This is the woman Gehazi said whose son he restored to life And this is her son whom Elisha brought back from death
When the king asked her she told him all that had happened So the king appointed an officer saying restore all that was hers All the fruits of the field since the day she left until now
The man of God had spoken to her Arise and go he said Leave your house and your land The LORD has called for a famine
She went and came to the king for her house and land Her life was hidden in those seven years But the word of the prophet spoke before the famine fell
The LORD sees what is hidden He restores what was lost He remembers his servants and their deeds He keeps his word across the years
Elisha came to Damascus Benhadad the king was sick The man of God had come there And even in the exile the woman’s mercy was not forgotten Her restoration was a sign of grace extended beyond measure
