Psalm 43 is the companion poem of Psalm 42 - five verses of lament, a plea for God’s guidance to his holy hill, and three rounds of the same question: why are you in despair, my soul? The answer is always the same: hope in God.

Vindicate me, God And plead my cause against an ungodly nation

Oh, deliver me from deceitful and wicked men For you are the God of my strength Why have you rejected me Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy
