Lyrics
After these things I saw another angel coming down out of heaven Having great authority and the earth was illuminated with his glory And he cried with a mighty voice saying fallen fallen is Babylon the great
And it has become a habitation of demons And a prison of every unclean spirit And a cage of every unclean and hateful bird For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath
Of her sexual immorality and the kings of the earth Committed sexual immorality with her And the merchants of the earth waxed rich by the power Of her luxury therefore in one day
Her plagues will come deaths and mourning and famine And she will be utterly burned with fire For strong is the Lord God who judged her And the kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality
With her and lived luxuriously with her Will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning Standing far off for the fear of her torment saying Alas alas the great city Babylon
The strong city for in one hour your judgment has come And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her For no one buys their cargo any more The cargo of gold and silver and precious stones
And pearls and fine linen and purple and silk and scarlet And every kind of citron wood and every vessel of ivory And every vessel made of most precious wood and of brass And of iron and of marble
Alas alas the great city wherein all who had their ships in the sea Became rich by reason of her costliness For in one hour is she made desolate
