Deborah was a prophetess and judge who led Israel during a time of oppression under Jabin, king of Canaan. She summoned Barak to raise an army, and together they defeated Sisera's forces at the river Kishon. Her song of victory in Judges 5 celebrates God's deliverance and stands as one of Scripture's oldest poems.
