Elealeh

A Moabite city whose fields and vineyards are invoked in Isaiah and Jeremiah's elegies over Moab's defeat and grief. The prophetic texts suggest it was a fertile, prosperous settlement, making its fall part of the larger judgment-narrative over the region. Located near Heshbon, it formed part of Reuben's original settlement east of the Jordan.
