A site in the valley of Hinnom near Jerusalem where God's people committed the grave sin of burning their children as offerings to the foreign god Molech. Jeremiah declared that God would transform Topheth into a mass grave, a place of judgment for those who abandoned the covenant. The name became synonymous with judgment and became a referent for the place of eternal fire.
